Lil Silva will release new ‘Still Heavy P1’ EP on March 29th.
The producer is lauded for his collaborative work, a journey that has taken him from seminal releases on Night Slugs through to studio sessions with Adele. His own work remains close to his heart, however, and Lil Silva continues that solitary journey this month.
Out on March 29th, his new ‘Still Heavy P1’ EP contains four tracks, with Lil Silva spinning the creative dials once more. CLASH spoke to the producer last year, and discussed his next steps:
“There’s been things going around, but I know the process that I want to follow. I really feel it’s important if you’re going to do an album, you set out for what that’s going to be. I had a vivid [vision for ‘Yesterday Is Heavy’]I wanted it to be something you play back-to-back and there’s a whole story with it.”
The EP leads with ‘Ohh Yeah’ – chopping up his funk and soul influences, Lil Silva connects them to future-facing currents within UK club culture. An all-out mover, it’s accompanied by news of a special launch party – catch Lil Silva at Hackney’s The Glove That Fits on March 31st.
