Coffee Wars is a 2023 comedy that follows a broke vegan barista named Jo (Kate Nash) who participates in the World Barista Championship to prove to the world that good coffee can be made with vegan products. Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays Roopa, one of Jo’s friends who helps her compete in the World Barista Championship. This is one of Jackson’s best roles because not only does he get to play one of the lead characters, but it also gives him the opportunity to lean into his comedic strengths. The Five (2016)
The Five is a gripping crime mystery miniseries that tells the story of four childhood friends named Mark, Danny, Slade, and Pru, who reunite when they discover a crime scene with DNA that matches Mark’s younger brother Jesse, who disappeared in 1995. The four friends work together to continue the search for Mark’s brother while also trying to determine what kind of involvement Mark had with the crime. This show was Saoirse-Monica Jackson’s very first credited acting role, and while her character, Sasha, played a small part in the overall narrative, it is still an early showcase of her future acting career.

A very unusual yet unique premises, Unprecedented: Real Time Theater from a State of Isolation is a five-episode online anthology miniseries in which each episode follows a group of regular people trying to continue living their normal lives despite being forced to remain in their homes during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the show, Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays a character named Mia, and this is one of her best roles because despite the show being presented through Zoom, she is still able to embody her character and give a convincing performance effortlessly in her respective episodes.

Skint (2022)
Skint is another incredibly unique show — a six-episode anthology miniseries in which each episode follows a different character in poverty who each gives a monologue the entire runtime explaining in detail the hardships and difficulties that come with being a person from the lower class. In Skint episode 1, “I’d Like to Speak to the Manager”, Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays a server named Tara who has to deal with a difficult customer who does not believe that Tara is providing the correct amount of service she believes she’s entitled to. Throughout the episode, Jackson gives a powerful, angry monologue that makes the audience just as frustrated as he is.

Liverpool Ferry (2020)
Liverpool Ferry is a 19-minute short film and tells the story of a young couple named Sarah (Saoirse-Monica Jackson) and Jules (Ross McKinney) who go on a journey from Belfast to Liverpool to have an abortion since, at the time of the film’s 2020 release, Northern Ireland had strict anti-abortion laws. What is so powerful about this short film is that it starts out as a simple road trip where Sarah and Jules make jokes and have fun, but as the story goes on, it becomes much darker and more serious, and the fact that Jackson can play the character in both ways makes this one of her best roles.

In the same vein as Comedy Central’s Drunk History, Urban Myths is a comedy-drama series in which each episode is a fictional retelling of an urban myth regarding famous pop culture figures like Bob Dylan (Eddie Marsan), Carry Grant (Ben Chaplin), or Muhammad Ali (Noel Clarke) that may or may not have happened. In the show, Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays a character named Janet, and while it is not a substantial role, it gives the actress the ability to hold her ground against several A-list actors such as in season 4, episode 4 w, here she was in several scenes with the late, great Robbie Coltrane who played Orson Welles.

Despite Beckett’s fame threatening to ruin their relationship, Finley and Beckett fall in love with each other and attempt to stay together regardless of whatever obstacles may be waiting for them. Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays a character named Emma Callaghan, and while not the lead role, it is a substantial side character that showcases her natural comedic chops.
